Le Mans Auto Exports & Imports understands our client’s urgency to receive their car, but we ask our clients to please understand that the total shipping and conversion process may take up to 6 to 7 months or longer for all imports into the U.S. We ask our clients to please understand that the information below is only an estimate. The Exact schedule will be given to our customers once all necessary paperwork and arrangements have been completed.

• Vehicle conversion and all necessary Federal & State paper work will take around 99 days or less (U.S.-Only). Exact schedule will be given to our customers once all necessary paperwork and arrangements have been completed
• U.S. law (NHTSA) indicates that any vehicle imported into the U.S. must be converted to meet all federal and state regulations (FMVSS) within 120 days of entry (U.S.-Only)
DELIVERY SERVICES
At Le Mans Auto Exports & Imports we offer several different methods of International & Domestic shipping for your vehicle. When the time comes to select a method of shipping we will do our best to appropriately match each client demands and tailor these set of requirements with the appropriate method of international and/or domestic shipping.
Air Cargo
For the most urgent request we recommend shipping by air.
• This method will allow you to receive your vehicle much sooner relative to traditional shipping methods. This method of shipping will also diminish your vehicles exposure to the elements. We recommend this method of shipping over all others for individuals who are car collectors or just want the best for their investment. This method will save you time but will also be relatively more expensive.
Ocean Freight Shipping
If time is not a problem we recommend ocean freight shipping. There are two types of vehicle shipping.
Enclosed Container Shipping
• Involves placing and securing your vehicle into a 20ft. or 40ft. metal shipping container. When it comes to ocean shipping this is by far the safest and preferred method of transport for car collectors and car connoisseurs.
• This method will also diminish your vehicles exposure to the elements. The total shipping time for a vehicle shipped in an enclosed container usually takes several weeks to arrive at its destination.
Roll on and Roll off shipping (Ro-Ro)
• Your vehicle will be directly driven onto the freight ship. Once on the ship it will be secured in an open-air environment. When your vehicle arrives at its destination it will be driven off the freight ship.
• This method of shipping unfortunately does not provide the same level of protection, as do the air cargo or the enclosed container methods of shipping. This is however the most economical of the three. The total shipping time for a vehicle shipped via Ro-Ro usually takes several weeks to arrive at its destination.
Marine Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you purchase an insurance policy that covers your vehicle and shipping charges. There are two types of policies: "Full Coverage" and "Total Loss."
• Full Coverage - Replaces the cost of the car, dents, scratches and shipping costs.
• Total Loss - While less expensive, it replaces only the value of the car.
The client may purchase marine insurance independently or request LMAEI to include the cost for either "Full Coverage" or "Total Loss” into their initial quote.
