While the rest of the world seems to be worried about inflation and the unpredictability of the stock market, Ferrari is sitting pretty.  Total profits for 2007 were up 20 percent to 456 million Euros.  That’s coming off of last year’s record-breaking revenues which were up 15.3 percent at 1.67 billion Euros with sales up 11.1 percent at 6,488 cars.

Ferrari is reporting unprecedented sales growth in emerging markets, including the Middle East where sales are up 32%, and the South Asian region where sales are up 50%.  SPORTS Motors Company, the exclusive Ferrari importer in Qatar set the record for the highest per capital sales of Ferraris in the world during 2007, with a whopping 120% sales rate increase over the previous year.

Just as interesting is the 7% increase in sales in the U.S. where sub prime interest rates have everyone hot and bothered and where economic and ecological pressures take a toll on luxury auto sales.

First quarter profits in 2008 were down 11%, but according to Ferrari, this dip in sales was from lack of inventory, not from lack of interest.  They still have waiting eager buyers on waiting lists for up to twenty-four months for the prestige car.
