The Audi Q5 is about to be released within a few months, and it will become available in the Middle East some time during the second quarter of 2009. The Q5 is the baby brother of the wildly popular Q7 which already has a loyal following in the region.
The Q5 standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder creating 200 horsepower.
There will be multiple engine design options, including standard petrol, TDI and electric hybrid. The models that will be available in the Middle East are either the 211 horsepower 2.0T or the 265 horsepower 3.2 liter engines.
At 2.81 meters, it has more room than any other compact SUV seating five comfortably, although there is no third row of seats. It stays close to the ground at 1.65 meters high, and with 19 inch wheels, giving it an assertive and sporty look. The Q5 also boasts standard quattro permanent all-wheel drive for superior handling.
Some of the extras featured on this model are a tire pressure monitoring system, three-zone climate control system, and a high-beam assistant that automatically switches between high and low. The day and night headlights are based on LED technology, and along with the front grill, the Q5 has an unmistakable appearance.
It isn’t often that a car can be functional and fantastic. The Audi Q5 promises to be both, and then some.
